Sometimes, as Christians, we live our lives in compartments. Typically, this means that God is put in a box separate from all other aspects of our lives. We do this, in part, because we believe that He can have no real influence on our particular circumstances. We also do it because we fear the requirements of His influence – we fear the personal responsibility that true relationship demands.
In Exodus 20 vs 3, the first commandment of the ten given to Moses is quite unequivocal: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”. With this, it is clear that ‘God is enough’ is not some radical faith-based Christian slogan. It is, in fact, a view that God shares, which originated from Him and represents His express desire.
